Each merges elements of Modernist and Soviet-era design with materials and techniques traditional to Cuba: mahogany wood and rattan caning and latticework. Named after important mid-Century Cuban architects and designers, the sculptures pay homage to the legacy of a generation of artists whose works are now largely forgotten, but once championed by the state.
