Tightly controlled tableaux are increasingly destabilized, reflecting an increasingly uncertain and tumultuous world. In this work, a horned figure—the titular Pink Panther—lounges idly as destruction rages above him, a reference to both the bumbling French detective and, more broadly, the inaction of politicians as the populace suffers.
